Ethereum Drops 0.3 Percent After Teku 26.8.0 Deposit Change

Ethereum traded at 2478.67 dollars, down 0.3 percent on the session, while Bitcoin held 79018 dollars after a 1.0 percent gain. The move came on modest volume as majors showed mixed candles and Solana led alts with a 3.2 percent advance to 98.53 dollars.

Consensys tagged Teku 26.8.0 on GitHub at 23:56 UTC on August 10 as a recommended consensus-client update. The release carries breaking changes that drop legacy Eth1 JSON-RPC deposit-log fetching. Nodes no longer require an Eth1 endpoint. Deposits now arrive from the finalized deposit-tree snapshot and in-protocol EIP-6110 execution requests.

CLI flags removed include —eth1-endpoints, —eth1-endpoint and —eth1-deposit-contract-max-request-size. The GetDepositSnapshot RPC endpoint is also gone under Beacon API spec v3.0.0. Non-production validator subcommands send-deposits and generate-and-send-deposits were deleted, while generate-keys remains available. Beacon REST API canceled requests now time out after 30 seconds.
